17 June 2011:  Clashes between the Syrian supplied Alawites of Jabal Muhsen and Sunnis of Tripoli.
13 June 2011:  A new cabinet is formulated after a 5 month delay under the leadership of Najib Mikati.
13 March 2011  Perhaps the largest protest in Lebanese history took place.  The protesters were demanding that Hezb Allah needs to surrender their weapons to the Lebanese Army.
27 February 2011:  Future Movement and 14 March decided not to participate in the new government led by Mikati.
25-27 January 2011:  Citizens of Tripoli 'Mikati's home town'  showed their dislike for the new Prime Minister by organizing protests.
25 January 2011:  Through masterful manipulation of the Lebanese political system Hezb Allah was able to elect their candidate of choice for Prime Minister. 'Najib Mikati'
12 January 2011:  Ignoring one of the mandates of the Doha agreement, Hezb allah forces the collapse of the goverment in what seemed to be a protest against the upcoming international court decision.  Why are they protesting a decision when it has not yet been announced.
October 2010:  Irani president Ahmadinajad visits Lebanon and advises Hezb Allah to boycott the UN mandated court decision to find out what happened to Rafic Hariri.  First why does Lebanon have to listen to Iran and second why would you recommend a boycott if you have nothing to worry about?
August 2010:  The Lebanese army and Israely army exchange fire but things never escalated to the level of a serious conflict.
November 2009:  After numoreous delays by Hezb Allah and partners PM elect Saad Al Hariri was able to form a unity government.
June 2009:  Future movement and it's allied wins another political election and once again they do so convincingly.
April 2009:  The 4 generals detained for suspicion of killing PM Rafic Hariri were released for lack of evidence.
October 2008:  Syria and Lebanon establish diplomatic ties for the first time.
July 2008:  Israel and Hezb Allah once again exchange prisoners.
June 2008:  Fighting broke out between citizens of Tripoli.  Citizens from Jabal Muhsen began an assault of Beb Al tebbeneh.  No one is sure what provoked the citizens of Jabal Muhsen to start a war but there are strong suspicions that Syria was supporting them.
25 May 2008:  After 6 months of delays Lebanon finally elected a new president 'Michel Sulieman'.
7-13 May 2008: Hezb Allah turns their weapons against the Lebanese people and start a massacre in Beirut.  Hezb Allah took the weapons that they were supposed to use to defend the Lebanese borders and used them against Lebanese citizens.  The events ended with an agreement both sides came to in Doha Qatar.
November 2007:  Emil Lahud's stay as president finally ends.
September 2007:  The Lebanese army defeats the terrorit group Fateh Al-Islam.
September 2007:  Anti Syrian Lebanese politician Antoine Ghanem was murdered.
June 2007:  Waleed Ido and anti Syria Lebanese politician was murdered.
May 2007:  The UN security council setup a tribunal to find out who killed slain PM Rafik Al Hariri.
May 2007:  A terrorist group 'fateh Alislam' attacked the city of Tripoli.  The group was hiding in Palestinian refugee camps.  This began a 4 month war between the Lebanese army and the terrorist group.
March 2007:  Hezb Allah pitched tents in the heart of Beirut crippling the city, scaring tourists and devastating local businesses. 
January 2007:  Hezb Allah caused unrest in the country as they called for a general strike.  Violence escalated between students at Beirut Arab University.
November 2006:  Pierre Jumayel another anti Syria Lebanese politician was murdered.
September 2006:  Lebanese soldiers re-entered southern Lebanon and deployed along the Israeli border for the first time in decades.
August 2006:  1500 UN troops were deployed to southern Lebanon to maintain the peace.
July 2006:  a 34 day war broke out between Hezb Allah and Israel.  Much of southern Lebanon was destroyed.  Israel blocked roads, bombed bridges and cut Lebanon of from outside contact.
12 December 2005:  Vocal anti Syria Lebanese politician Gibran Tueini was murdered.
September 2005:  4 Pro Syria generals were charged with the killing of Rafic Alhariri.
18 July 2005:  Samir Geagea leader of 'al-ouwat' is granted amnesty and was a free man for the first time in 11 years.
June 2005:  Hariri's 'future party' wins the Lebanese election in a sweeping fashion led by the slain PM's son Saad Al Hariri.
June 2005:  A famous anti Syrian journalist Samir Qasir was assassinated.
April 2005:  All Syrian troops withdraw from Lebanon and the Lebanese once again decide to pardon all factions and start over.  Michel Aoun is brought back after a 14 year exile.
March 2005:  Syria decides to withdraw its troops from Lebanon to follow through on the UN mandate.  Syria withdrew after robbing, murdering and destroying the Lebanese people.  Pro Syria prime minister Omar Karameh resigns.
14 February 2005: Former PM and vocal denouncer of Syrian influence  Rafic Hariri was assassinated very dramatically.  His motorcade was blown to shreds by explosives!  There were several casualties including 8 people that were accompanying Hariri from a conference.
October 2004:  Prime minister Rafic Hariri resigns from his post.  Hariri was unhappy with growing Syrian influence in Lebanon.
September 2004:  A very unpopular president 'Emil Lahoud' changes the Lebanese constitution to extend his term as president.  Once again a Syrian puppet executing Syrian orders!
September 2004:  The UN security council passes a resolution asking Syria to withdraw from Lebanon.
October 2000:  Rafik Hariri was elected PM for second time.
24 May 2000:  Israels enemy soldiers withdraw from almost all Lebanese territories.  Shabaa farms are still occupied although they belong to Lebanon.
18 April 2000:  Israel releases 13 Lebanese prisoners who have been behind bars for over a decade.
24 November 1998:  Emil Lahoud was elected president of Lebanon.  Lahoud was a former army commander and strong ally of Syria.
1 April 1998:  Israel decides to follow through on the 20 year old UN resolution 425 to withdraw all Israeli troops from Lebanese territories.
17 April 1996:  Israel bombs a UN refugee camp in Qana killing over 100 civilians.
11 April 1996:  Israel begins another series of very heavy assaults on Lebanon.
1994:  Samir Geagea leader of the Lebanese group 'Al-ouwat' is sentenced to life in prison.  'in solitary confinement.
25 July 1993:  Israel rocks Lebanon with the heaviest bombing campaign since the original invasion in 1982!
31 October 1992:  Rafik Harir becomes the Lebanese Prime Minister.
20 October 1992:  Amal leader Nabih Bery was elected speaker of the house.
16 February 1992:  Hezb Allah's second secretary general Abbas Al-mousawi was killed by Israel.
26 August 1991:  All parties were pardoned from any war crimes in the civil war.  Michel Aoun however was exiled to France.  Syria had strong influence in Aoun's Exile.  (Aoun is now on the trail defending the Syrians who exiled him)
1991:  All Lebanese militias were ordered to disarm for the safety of the country.  Hezb Allah was allowed to keep their weapons under the condition that they only use those weapons to defend Lebanon against Israel.
24 December 1990: Omar Karameh brother of slain PM Rasheed Karameh was elected Prime Minister and he was in charge of creating a unity government.
13 October 1990:  Michel Aoun takes refuge in the French embassy after a Syrian assault.  Aoun's retreat became known as the unofficial end of the 25 year civil war.  (Aoun acts as if he loves Syria now!)
24 November 1989:  Ilyas el Hirawi was elected president of Lebanon.  Hirawi showed through his rein that his political views were favorable to Syria!
22 November 1989:  President elect Renee Mouawad was assassinated.  We do not know who killed him however Syria seems to be the prime suspect.
28 July 1989:  Hezb Allah's first leader Abdul Kareem Obeid was abducted by Israel.
14 March 1989:  Army commander Michel Aoun declared war on Syria stating that they don't belong in Lebanon!  It's very ironic that 20 years later Aoun is nothing more than Syria's puppet.
22 September 1988:  No president was elected to replace Ameen Jumayel.
1 June 1987:  An airplane that had Prime Minister Rasheed Karameh on board blew up killing the PM.
23 October 1983:  241 Marines and 56 French paratroopers are killed in Beirut.
21 September 1982:  Ameen Jumayel becomes president.
14 September 1982:  President elect Bashir Jumayel was assassinated.  It is believed that Syria was behind the assassination.
1982:  Ayatollah Khoumayni created a Lebanese Militia group by the name of Hezb Allah to combat Israeli troops and curb their influence.
6 June 1982:  Israel launches a full scale invasion of Lebanon.
19 March 1978:  The UN security council passed resolution 425.  The resolution called for the Israeli army to withdraw from all Lebanese territories.
14 March 1978:  Israel invades Lebanon by land for the first time.  The invading army occupied land as far north as the Litani river.
June 1976:  The Syrian Army enters Lebanon for the first time in order to curb the growing Palestinian influence in Lebanon.  The Palestinian population grew at a fast rate in Lebanon due to the fact that many refugees came to Lebanon to seek shelter from the Israeli military offensive in Palestine.
13 April 1975:  An attack on a bus in Ayn Alrummanah killing 27 signified the unofficial start of the Lebanese civil war.
28 December 1968: Israel bombs Beirut international airport destroying several civilian planes.  This was the first Israeli attack on the Republic of Lebanon.
22 November 1943: France relinquished its control in Lebanon, this day is recognized as the Lebanese independence day.
